Fund-raising for the trip to Egypt

Posted by Simon Welsh | 11 June 2008 | Comments (1)

As the NZOI doesn't get any funding for the trip to the IOI (plane leaves  then ), thus relies on donations to cover the airfares. A group of auctions on TradeMe has been set up as a fundraiser  here . Closes on the 18th of June. The

email from Margot (the NZOI team leader) about it:

Hello all
You are the lucky recipient of this email because either you have in some
way been involved with programming contests or because you're a friend - and
in some cases you're both!

A couple of parents of students at the Olympiad summer camp have got some
businesses to donate passes to events which are now being auctioned on Trade
Me. The money raised is towards the trip to Cairo for the team this year in
August.

There are  vouchers for Alpine Ice, Capital-E gaming workshop, Clipnclimb,
Ferrymead heritage park, Orana wildlife park, Skytower, Stardome, Science
Alive, Southern Encounter, Westgate ten pin bowling.

This is the link to the listings:

Please take a look - and even if you're not interested, pass on the word to
someone who may be.

Thanks all, in advance

Cheers, Margot
