Geek Day 4 - Greatest application written to date

This is a really hard one. Since I have very little overlap between my applications, I can't really compare them.

Somethings that the "greatest" application isn't:

  • Written in a portable language like Java, AIR, Flash
  • Exclusively in the "cloud"
  • Broken
  • More expensive than it should be
  • Have a horrible learning curve
  • Have a non-native UI
  • Full of overused buzzed words anywhere, including in its marketing

Isn't it great how Zend Studio is all of those except in the cloud? I'm sure Zend would do that if they could though.

If I had to pick, I would probably go with Terminal.app. Simply because it gives me access to raw power :) (for some definition of raw power).
