Make Wellington a Fair Trade City

Posted by Simon Welsh | 8 May 2009 | Comments (4)

There's currently an ePetition being run over on the council site about making Wellington a Fair Trade City.

Copy and pasted for greater justice:

The five steps to becoming a fair trade city are:

1.Wellington City Council passes a resolution.
2. Fair Trade products are relatively available in retail and catering outlets.
3. Local workplaces and community groups support Fair Trade and use the products.
4. Raise awareness of Fair Trade
5. A Fair Trade steering group formed

Linky for signage: linkage!

On a side note, does anyone know where I can get some decent fair trade chocolate? I know Sarah was selling some awhile ago (water tank fund-raising?), but I don't think she's still selling them.

It's the final countdown!

  • Try Trade Aid for a range of flavours. Located on the corner of Victoria and Bond St.
Also, Green and Blacks Organic chocolate has some Fair Trade options - New World Metro is definitely a stockist.
