Stupid, inconsiderate time zones

Posted by Simon Welsh | 4 May 2008 | Comments (1)

It's almost tomorrow, which is the first day of school for term two, and I'm awake and ranting.

I just ran out of time in the SACO (South African Computing Olympiad), and figured out how to get the index I need just before the time limit. All I had to do was make a maximum spanning tree to calculate the longest time for a taxi to get dispatched or something.

I still have half of a bottle of Mountain Dew left (already drank one), so probably wont get to sleep for a while, I'm going to be kicked off the internet in 15 minutes.

I would've have finished the problem, and had a crack at the third one if the time limit was from when I started. The competition started at 1830, while I was at church, so I didn't start until 2030.

Getting woken up at 0630 tomorrow by Blitzkrieg is going to be annoying, especially if some of the Mountain Dew kicks in as I'm trying to sleep (like it normally does...). So I'll just lie in bed with Blumpy and rage.

Oh, if you couldn't tell, I'm annoyed. I'm allowed to be annoyed every so often. Stupid time limits and competitions in inconsiderate time zones. Everybody should use a unified time zone, and then I wont have this problem.

I should probably get some sleep before school tomorrow. I'll probably finish the problem tomorrow as well.

  • Aww, don't be annoyed. I hope Blumpy made everything better.
