Stupid windows

Posted by Simon Welsh | 30 October 2008 | Comments (0)

So, I had some spyware in my installation of Windows.

Well, Windows thought so anyways. So I clicked the nice revert button. Now I don't have spyware, but have to run the updates again.

Oh, not all of my blog displays properly in IE. The suckers that are browsing with it should use Safari.

So I started running the updates. I've already restarted Windows four times, and will do a fifth when SP3 is installed. Thankfully, Parallels doesn't have to give it the 2GB of RAM it gets at every restart, or I'll be hanging way too much.

This time, I'm going to take the snapshot after the updates, so I don't have to go through this again.

Why can't it just have the SP3 update, then all the others at once? Two restarts, just like a minor OS update in OS X.
